Stars twinkle at Duggu bash 12 January 2011, Mail Today
HRITHIK Roshan turned 37 on Monday, and the guest set that turned up to wish him at his Juhu residence included most of the Bollywood A- list stars, the notable exception being Salman Khan and his family.
Most of Bollywood biggies were celebrating Hrithik’s birthday on the same day that Imran Khan was throwing a private wedding reception at a Bandra five- star hotel where the guest list was restricted to family members.
Shah Rukh Khan arrived with wife Gauri at Hrithik’s birthday bash. Sources say they had a fun time together.
Bipasha Basu looked stunning in a short floral dress. However, boyfriend John Abraham did not attend the party.
Heads turned when Kangana Ranaut walked in. Only a day before, Kangana had reportedly declined a role in Hrithik’s upcoming Krrish 2 because she didn’t like it.
Deepika Padukone, looked beautiful draped in a black six- yard. She was accompanied by boyfriend Siddharth Mallya.
The buzz, however, was about the one superstar who chose to be absent from the do. Salman Khan, with whom Hrithik had a war of words recently, stayed away from the starry bash, as did members of his family.
Among others spotted were also Katrina Kaif, Karishma Kapoor, Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and wife Adhuna, Shilpa Shetty with husband Raj Kundra and sister Shamita Shetty, Twinkle Khanna, Kunal Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and wife Mehr Jessia, Dino Morea, Uday Chopra, Chunkey Pandey, Sanjay Kapoor and wife Maheep, fashion designer Surily Goel and Shweta Nanda.
Hrithik’s family members including Suzanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, Aqeel, Zayed Khan and wife Malaika, and Fardeen Khan’s wife Natasha made sure the guests had a great time.
Also, Hrithik, for the first time, celebrated his birthday with the media by cutting a cake. “ Numbers and years are all man- made terms. You’re as young as your heart tells you. I still feel like being 18, although my knees hurt a bit more than they used to,” said Hrithik, who is about to start shooting for Karan Johar’s Agneepath remake.
